NZC Donations Letters for 2009 Were Sent by Email

If you donated to the NZC in 2009 and didn't receive a copy of your Donations letter for tax purposes, please contact us at info@nashvillezencenter.org.   The emails were sent early February 9.  Also contact us if you need a hard copy of your letter via snail mail.  Thank you for your continuing support of the Nashville Zen Center in 2009 and into 2010!

Book Study resumes this Saturday, Feb 6th

Book study participants, please log in to the site and check the Discussion area for details and other topics regarding the resuming of our book study in the new year.

Sat. 7am sit cancelled for Jan 30th 2010

Due to weather conditions this evening, and the fact that businesses and shops are closing early all over town since late afternoon, and the fact that it's still coming down outside and isn't going to get any better by early morning, we are canceling the 7am sit this Saturday, January 30th.

We encourage everyone to "sit where you are" on Saturday just the same.  Be safe.

Upcoming Events at the NZC

Some of the details are rough at this point, but you may want to pencil some or all of the following into your calendar, and keep watching.
  • Skype Session with Sensei Elliston, Wednesday, January 27.  The first in a series of Discussion sessions via Skype with our teacher from Atlanta.  Because of the nature of the meeting and technical limits, preference will be given to Zen initiates.  The meeting will be in Hermitage (this will NOT be its permanent location).  Check the Members Only Broadcasts for further details.
  • Book Study resumes Saturday, Feb. 6.  More Shobogenzo Zuimonki, first and third Saturdays of each month at 9 a.m. at the 12South Dharma Center.
  • One Day Sit in Franklin, Saturday, Feb. 27.  7 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. (times are tentative at this point), lunch provided, donation requested.  Hosted by and at the home of, one of our members.  Check the Members Only Broadcasts for details.  There will be no sit or Book Study at the 12South Dharma Center that day.

General Meeting for all Members, 9 a.m. this Saturday, Jan. 16,

This is our Annual General Meeting, held for the first time separate from the meeting of the Board of the Directors. Hopefully all of the Board members will be there to answer any and all questions, or suffer comments.

Under the Bylaws, any person who has attended three or more regular meetings of the NZC is welcome to attend. If you are a non-member and wish to attend, please contact info@NZC.org.

Hope to see a good many of you on Saturday!
